O fundo de pens\u00f5es holand\u00eas ABP, o maior da Holanda, anunciou recentemente a venda da totalidade da sua participa\u00e7\u00e3o <\/a>na Caterpillar<\/a>, por raz\u00f5es \u00e9ticas. O ABP, que administra cerca de 524 mil milh\u00f5es de euros em ativos, detinha anteriormente aproximadamente 387 milh\u00f5es de euros em a\u00e7\u00f5es da empresa norte-americana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta decis\u00e3o do ABP seguiu-se ao desinvestimento do fundo soberano noruegu\u00eas, Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) que vendeu cerca de 2 mil milh\u00f5es de euros em a\u00e7\u00f5es da Caterpillar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A administra\u00e7\u00e3o do Presidente dos Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, manifestou-se \u201cmuito preocupada\u201d com a decis\u00e3o do fundo soberano noruegu\u00eas de desinvestir da empresa norte-americana<\/a> Caterpillar, alegando motivos \u00e9ticos. Washington confirmou que j\u00e1 iniciou contatos com o governo da Noruega para discutir o caso, que provocou rea\u00e7\u00f5es nos mercados e contribuiu para uma nova queda nas a\u00e7\u00f5es da fabricante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

O fundo soberano da Noruega, considerado o maior do mundo, era o oitavo maior acionista da Caterpillar segundo a Bloomberg. O fundo justificou em comunicado a decis\u00e3o, com o uso dos equipamentos da Caterpillar pelas autoridades israelitas em Gaza e na Cisjord\u00e2nia ocupada. A decis\u00e3o segue as recomenda\u00e7\u00f5es do<\/a> Conselho de \u00c9tica do fundo, que avalia o cumprimento das diretrizes \u00e9ticas aprovadas pelo parlamento noruegu\u00eas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

O ministro das Finan\u00e7as, Jens Stoltenberg, esclareceu que o governo n\u00e3o interfere nas decis\u00f5es de investimento do fundo, sublinhando a independ\u00eancia entre as v\u00e1rias institui\u00e7\u00f5es envolvidas. \u201cO governo n\u00e3o participa na avalia\u00e7\u00e3o de empresas individuais\u201d, afirmou Stoltenberg num comunicado enviado \u00e0 Reuters. \u201cA decis\u00e3o de excluir empresas \u00e9 tomada de forma independente pelo Conselho Executivo do Norges Bank, de acordo com o quadro \u00e9tico estabelecido. Em finais de agosto deste ano, as a\u00e7\u00f5es da Caterpillar ca\u00edram em bolsa, ap\u00f3s a empresa ter revisto em alta as suas previs\u00f5es de custos com as tarifas alfandeg\u00e1rias para 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Este abalo coincidiu com uma fase de maior incerteza em torno da pol\u00edtica comercial norte-americana, marcada pelas tarifas impostas pela administra\u00e7\u00e3o Trump e pelas taxas de juro elevadas. Segundo analistas da Morgan Stanley, o setor da maquinaria industrial tem sido particularmente penalizado. \u201cA nossa preocupa\u00e7\u00e3o continua a ser a fraca capacidade da Caterpillar e do setor para repercutir as tarifas nos pre\u00e7os\u201d, observou o analista Angel Castillo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
